The most scenic castle of all has to be Kilchurn, a ruined structure close to Dalmally in Argyll. This castle was erected by the famous Campbell clan. It’s located at the tip of Loch Awe and was built on a small rocky narrow slip of land. One of the most photographed castles in Scotland.
Historically and architecturally, Stirling Castle is one of the largest in Scotland.

On the shore of Loch Fyne, in western Scotland, in the county of Argyll lies Inveraray Castle. Since the 18th century this castle has been the seat of the Dukes of Argyll.
